- An intelligent developer has built her own smart mirror that serves as a time, weather, and calendar device
- The lady told tweeps the kind of programming language she used to make it possible
- Many people were in awe of her tech skills as they asked her to patent the product
A young and intelligent female developer with the handle @DARAM0SH3R has set Twitter abuzz after she created a smart mirror in her room.
In a post on Sunday, December 13, the lady said she built the mirror with a touchscreen because she was bored.
The smart mirror is an interactive device that serves its basic function and tells things like weather, time, and date.
Aside from those, it accesses a person's physique and passes an 'objective' judgment. For the developer who posed in front with her phone, the mirror told her:
"Wow, you look hot!"
See her post below:
There are cables jolting out from the back of the mirror suggesting that there may be some port behind it that serves as an inlet, allowing a computer to broadcast on it.
When someone asked her the full functions of the mirror, the lady said:
"So far it displays news, time, weather, horoscope and current playing Spotify song, I used a raspberry Pi as the computer and plugged it into a monitor, and put a 2 way mirror on top."
As at the time of writing this report, her tweet has gathered over 400,000 likes with thousands of quoted responses.
Below are some of the reactions below:
"Wow! You're good.. I've been tryna develop JARVIS using Raspberry pi for a while now, to automate some easy tasks in my house.. and I've been having the notion that it's too advanced and maybe impossible.. Now you've inspired me anew! Thanks for this.. We're Engineers, we build!"
"Wow I literally wanted to do this for one of my classes and my teacher thought it was dumb......now I’m thinking imma just make one cause that looks dope!"
"There is literally nothing about this that is patentable. The code is open source (i.e. someone else coded it and anyone can use it). Many engineering undergrads build these as side projects."
"And I'm just here breathing in and out, uselessly."
Meanwhile, Briefly.co.za earlier reported about a Nigerian who graduated from the University of Aberdeen in the UK with a distinction.
The lady identified as Oluwatosin Likinyo who shared the good news on both her website and LinkedIn page said she bagged a master’s degree in renewable energy engineering.
Oluwatosin said she was grateful to God and the Nigerian Liquified Natural Gas Limited for the opportunity.
