Sjava and Nomcebo Zikode win big at KwaZulu Natal Entertainment Awards

Sjava walked away with a cool R100 000 and a trophy on Tuesday night, 15 December during the KwaZulu-Natal Entertainment Awards.

The musician bagged the Best Male Artist category. He beat the likes of Nasty C, Big Zulu, Riky Rick, Zakwe, Tellaman, Mlindo The Vocalist and Maskandi singer Khuzani. The star also got to perform his smash hit titled Umama during the ceremony.

Sjava's good news was shared by entertainment commentator Phil Mphela, who was at the event. Phil wrote on Twitter on Tuesday night:

"ON STAGE: Tonight’s Best Male Artist trophy and R100k winner, Sjava, is performing."

Phil also took to Twitter and shared that Nomcebo Zikode took home the Best Female Award and R100 000. He shared that Khuzani bagged a whopping R500 000 and an award in the KZN's Most Loved category.

The aim of the awards ceremony is to honour entertainers who've made a name for themselves in KZN and continue to shine everywhere. The prestigious event took place at the Durban ICC. Briefly.co.za previously reported that Black Coffee and DJ Tira attended the launch of the event about two months ago.

In other entertainment news, Briefly.co.za reported that Zama has been announced as the 16th winner of Idols SA. The Witbank-born singer was crowned as the winner of the singing competition on Sunday night.

Idols SA took to Instagram on Sunday moments after Zama was announced as the winner and posted a video of the star where she thanked her supporters for their votes. In the clip, Zama said:

"Thank you so so much South Africa. I feel so blessed, I can't believe this is happening. Thank you so much for your support, ally your love and all your beautiful messages for keeping me strong guys, God bless each and everyone of you. I can't believe this."
