Somizi Mhlongo and Pearl Thusi have tackled gender stereotypes in the coolest way. The pair hosted the KZN Entertainment Awards recently and ‘gender swapped’ their outfits.
Somizi rocked a gorgeous golden dress while Pearl Thusi channeled boss lady vibes in a bright pink pants suit.
They both looked incredible in their individual styles and proved that fashion is not restricted to gender. Posting the outfits on social media, Pearl captioned the post:
“How often do you get to work with one of your most favourite people in the world?!? @somizi .I love you and I always will my love! The inspiration behind these looks was to challenge stereotypes with the outfits for entrance . If you know, you know"
Social media users also appreciated the two superstars and their take on bending gender norms.
Meanwhile Briefly.co.za previously reported that Somizi recently performed at the Idols SA finale and ended up trending online as Mzansi reacted to the show. The Idols SA judge performed his song Ntandane alongside his bestie Vusi Nova.
Many were in disbelief over how well Somizi sang as he has never displayed his vocal abilities in such a way before. The performance itself was a spectacle to behold and involved Somizi floating down onto the stage wrapped in gorgeous white drapery.
He shared some photos from the performance with the caption:
“Show business is me.”
Twitter user @zodwadinah said:
“Your performance was great and beautiful to watch.”
“You are indeed a phenomenon. I mean you sing, you get inside info on State affairs, you're a cook, you're an Idols judge, I mean you are everything. You are a person of many talents, you've got no idea how much I envy you. You are no mere mortal like us normal folks. Somizi!!!”
“Aaah I loved it and you have such a nice voice Som Som.”
Meanwhile, Briefly.co.za previously reported that Somizi Mhlongo went all-out to make his bae, Mohale, feel all kinds of special after reaching an awesome social media milestone. Mohale clocked a whole one million followers on Instagram.
