An ordinary jog turned into a moment that a former Durban resident would never forget. The early morning joggers that frequent the Sea Point promenade in Cape Town were treated to a rare pleasure.
Cyril Ramaphosa went out for an early morning jog on the day of his swearing in. People were amazed at seeing such a powerful man running unafraid amongst the people.
Briefly.co.za learned that they were in awe of the charisma and energy he exuded and were eager to see what he had in plan for South Africa according to ecr.co.za.
Sean Kirby took the opportunity to shoot a selfie with the soon to be president of South Africa. The image is heartwarming and one can't help but smile to see the genuine joy on both men's faces.
The lucky jogger spoke about his experience. He said that as he was enjoying his morning jog he noticed four men in black tracksuits.
He paused and thought that one of the gentlemen looked very familiar and then it clicked that it was Cyril Ramaphosa, a man who was about to become the most powerful person in South Africa.
He wasn't sure so he did a loop to take a second look and confirmed that it was indeed Ramaphosa, he popped a quick wave which was returned in kind with a smile. During the course of his morning jog Kirby noticed that Ramaphosa was engaging with the public.
He decided to take a chance and approach Ramaphosa and that is when he was able to take the selfie. He was pleased at how warm and engaging Ramaphosa was.
