Somizi leaves R600 tip for his waiter for the night, gets roasted

- The Idols SA judge shared with his followers that he left his waiter a generous tip for good service

- A number of people felt that there was no need for Somizi to publicise the fact that he had done a good deed

It is always a good thing to be charitable but when it gets shown off on social media, it leaves a bitter taste for some. Somizi Mhlongo-Motaung was dragged on social media for posting the fact that he gave his waiter for the night a R600 tip on Twitter.

The Idols SA judge and cookbook author shook many when he shared that he had a meal for R378 but paid a total of R1000, leaving a very generous tip. Somizi was impressed with the service he received from the student who served him that night.

A number of people praised Somgaga for his good deed but others were just not as impressed. Quite a few social media users felt that it was weird that Somizi shared the fact that he left the student a generous tip.

@ENOCKAY commented: "Dear Somizi, this is great but there's no need to come on Twitter and publish good acts. Even the bible condemns this thing of publicising good acts. It defeats the purpose of what you just did. Do all these amazing acts in secret and God will publicly bless you. No need for this."
