A groom identified as Richard Purcell was left stunned after realising that he had won £10,000 (R193k) on a football bet on the day of his wedding.
Richard was busy with his wedding activities and forgot to check his coupon. When he eventually did, he couldn't believe his eyes.
According to Ladibible, the 57-year-old man from Cheshire, England, checked his account and saw the money he had won.
Richard, who staked £25 (R489), described himself as the luckiest man alive, adding that he would put the money to good use.
He told the Liverpool Echo:
"It's fair to say I was otherwise engaged getting married, so didn't check my phone for the results until later when I saw a lovely sum of money in my account.
"I always put this kind of bet on and I've picked up bits and bobs in the past. I'm sure we'll put it to good use. As for a honeymoon, we've booked a nice hotel in Chester.
"I'm the luckiest man alive - and not just because of my bride."
