Woman who survived fire attack shares photos of her newborn baby boy, removes healing mask

23-year-old Turia Pitt was a mining engineer when she joined a marathon in western Australia in 2011.

However, tragedy struck during the event when she found herself trapped in a bushfire. She suffered burns all over her body.

After undergoing about 200 surgeries during her 5-month stay in the hospital, Turia came out without her fingers and thumb.

During this time, her relationship with Michael Hoskin grew stronger. Micheal even resigned from his job as a police officer to become Turia's full-time caretaker.
