A powerful sense of positivity and a can-do attitude has taken hold of South Africans from all walks of life.

This new sense of hope is thanks largely to President Cyril Ramaphosa and the positive attitude he has been exuding since taking office last Friday.

Ramaphosa delivered his maiden State of the Nation Address (SONA) last Friday, hours after taking the oath of office. His speech has been positively received, even opposition parties have had little to moan and groan about.

Briefly.co.za gathered that opposition Members of Parliament (MPs) posted their questions about the speech on Monday. Ramaphosa’s reply was presidential and so well received that MPs gave him a standing ovation.

Ordinary South Africans have also shown their love for the new president, social media has been abuzz with messages and memes congratulating Ramaphosa.

Ramaphosa’s announcement that top government officials would be subject to lifestyle audits proved incredibly popular and some hilarious memes have popped up.

Other users simply wondered how far the country would be ahead of where it is now if a certain Jacob Zuma had not been running things.
