Honouring parents and rewarding them for every effort they put towards our upbringing is one of the most satisfying feelings on earth.
Violet Evans knows this. She spends every waking moment being grateful to the man who brought her to the world, raised her, schooled her and protected her.
The TSC teacher said on Facebook group Home Beautiful that she was building a home for her dad to thank him for every sacrifice he made while she was young.

The daughter had started constructing a three-bedroomed house and though the process was slow, it will always be satisfying to her.
Violet said she started building the home two years back and though it is not yet complete, she just loves seeing how far she has come.
“This man you see here is my father. He used to work as a watchman in Sotik, Kiptenden Estate,” she narrated.
Though her dad did not earn much, Violet always got what she needed as a kid.

“It is my time to give back and make sure he lacks nothing too,” she added.
In a similar story, Doris Ogada's late mum was not wealthy but she was a queen in her own right.
She was a strong woman who tried to construct a beautiful home for her family before she passed away.
Doris's mother managed to bring up a mud structure but sadly passed away after that.
Eleven years later, the determined daughter built a brick house in honour of her matriarch.
