Former Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe is turning 94 years old on Wednesday, 21 February. Usually, this occasion was marked with much fanfare and huge public rallies.
However, Briefly.co.za understands that no massive celebrations have been planned for this year. This is despite 21 February being declared a public holiday in Zimbabwe.
As a throwback to previous years, Briefly.co.za compiles five incredible gifts the former leader received on his birthdays.
1. "Massage chair" or wheelchair?
Mugabe received this gift from his own Cabinet on his 93rd birthday last year. Some reports indicated that it was worth more than $4,000.
Many Zimbabweans on Twitter immediately joked that it was perhaps a message that he should retire, because it looked like a wheelchair of some sort.

Mugabe is well known as a Pan-Africanist. This fact was well taken into account by friends who had a huge, 89kg Africa-shaped cake prepared for him on his birthday in 2013.
3. A gold-studded royal throne
In 2014, Mugabe received a whopping 1,000kg diamond-studded "Royal Throne." According to thesouthafrican.com, it took two years to prepare and was adorned with leopard and crocodile skins.
4. Zoo menu
The former president's party's birthday party in 2015 was, needless to say, massive. However, it gained notoriety for the items on its menu. They included elephant, buffalo and sable meat.
In addition, a crocodile and lion were killed and stuffed for Mugabe.
5. A watch with Mugabe's face on it
A nine-carat gold watch with Mugabe's face and signature on it was a befitting gift to such a senior statesman on his birthday.
