- Kelly Khumalo and Zandie Khumalo-Gumede have had a strained relationship since the beginning of this year
- This happened because Kelly made a statement about distancing herself from her sister and her husband
- Kelly says that things will never be the same between her and Zandie but she wishes her the best
Relationships with siblings are not always smooth sailing and this seems to be the case for Kelly and Zandie Khumalo-Gumede. The two sibling singers have had a complicated relationship, to say the least. Back in February, Zandie announced that she would be breaking away from her sister.
This happened after Kelly said that she was disassociating herself from an alleged scam that her sister's husband, Mhlo Gumede, had been involved in.
Zandie then responded to Kelly's words by taking to Instagram and sharing how difficult it was for her to have to love her sister from a distance. Zandie said that Kelly's actions were unnecessary and put a strain on their relationship.
“If I was divorcing my husband maybe it would have been a little bit easier and lighter but I am separating from a person I have known for all my life," said Zandie.
Zandie told TshisaLIVE that her "divorce" from Kelly was not a publicity stunt. She said that she wanted to put all the drama behind her and focus on her music career. She said she was over the moon about her new song.
"It means a lot to me. God has done so much for me and I'm grateful," said Zandie.
Kelly is still hurt by her bad relationship with her sister and told a fan on Instagram that things would never be the same between them. She said that it hurt her but all will be well and she wishes her sister the best.
