1. Zwelinzima Vavi praises traditional herbs, Mbalula has questions

Shortly after recovering from Covid-19, Zwelinzima Vavi took to social media to praise traditional herbs.

On Monday, the South African Federation of Trade Unions general secretary gushed about how traditional medicines were used to treat illnesses long before pharmacies existed.

Vavi shared a photo of himself with a plant, which appears to be umhloyane - a traditional herb.

His post read:

"Traditional herbs have been used by our people for hundreds of years well before the existence of pharmacists! I used everything - from this in the pic to what is on offer in the pharmacy."

His post generated quite the buzz and even got a reaction from Fikile Mbalula. In a tweet that has since been deleted, Mbalula asked if it was weed.

2. Mbalula shares adorable photo of family and Mzansi is here for it

Fikile Mbalula gave South Africans a rare peek into his family life with an adorable photo of his wife and kids.

Fikile Mbalula posted rare snap of his entire family and the photo won social media users over. The Minister of Transport shared the photo on 1 January as he wished South Africans a happy new year.

The image shows Mbaks and his wife, Nozuko Mbalula, with their two of their children.

3. Mzansi hilariously captions photo of Mbalula and traffic officers

Fikile Mbalula got more than he bargained for when he asked South Africans to caption a photo of himself with two traffic officers.

Fikile Mbalula shared a photo of himself working. The image shows Mbalula at a road block with two traffic cops.

"Caption!" - he simply wrote and Mzansi did not disappoint.

4. Fikile Mbalula hilariously calls out "alcohol abusers", SA reacts

Fikile Mbalula took to social media to share a cheeky good morning message. The charismatic minister of transport told South Africans to drink responsibly now that alcohol sales are allowed again.

His tweet read:

"Utywala abupheli, don't make yourselves drunkards and queue for alcohol as if buzauphela. Drink responsibly. Good morning twittermantarians."

5. Mbalula mocks Tito Mboweni with 'throwback' pic, Mzansi reacts

Fikile Mbalula has no chill. Mbaweezy poked fun at a fellow minister, Tito Mboweni, on Twitter and it left South Africans laughing out loud.

Earlier, Briefly.co.za reported that Tito Mboweni posted a photo of chickens. The Minister of Finance said the chickens must have noticed he was "lonely" and they came to say hi.

Shortly after the post, Mbalula poked fun at Mboweni by sharing a photo of the Cerebos salt logo, claiming it was a photo the finance minister at age nine.

Mbalula captioned the post:

"Comrade Tito Mboweni at age 9. A legendary photograph that became the logo of some salt in South Africa."
