Eight years after the death of king of polygamy, Ancentus Akuku, or 'Danger' as he was commonly known, Kenya has a new polygamy king — Robert Kathata.

The man from Karina village in Igembe Central, Meru, is said to have 18 wives and 32 children already. He is expecting another baby soon.

Briefly.co.za learned that Robert's target is to marry a total of fifty wives.

You might wonder how Robert manages his 18 wives, who live in harmony with each other, while for many men maintaining one wife is quite an uphill climbing task.

In an interview with Tuko.co.ke, the proud father of 32 revealed that he manages to keep his wives happy by providing what they want individually. He said:

I must buy a piece of land for you [and] I must build for you a home. I cannot take you to another woman’s house because that is against our traditions.

It is obvious that Robert's manly powers alone cannot satisfy all the 18 wives, whom he attends to on a weekly basis. He said traditional herbs sustain his bedroom affairs:

First of all I have plans for my strength. When I approach a woman, I tell her the truth, I love you but I have other wives.

Robert also claims that once married to him, the satisfied women cannot leave him. This is perhaps because of the traditional herbs he uses to give him strength to sustain them. He added:

When you come to me, you can not leave, the way I will sustain you, you will not leave.

For Robert, it is a case of the apple not falling far from the tree. This is because he followed in the footsteps of his father, who had many wives as well

According to his fifth wife, Fridah Karemi, Robert is a well-behaved and decent man with whom she is never embarrassed to be seen:

I am wife number five and we stay in harmony with each other. I was attracted to him by his behaviour. He is smart, decent and he has money.

Robert has build homes for all his 18 wives and also put up businesses for each one of them as per their liking, something they have highly praised him for.
