@sheldon_cameron:

"Another reason we're in this mess is that people didn't maintain the Level 5 lockdown mentality when restrictions were eased the first time around."

@Xhosa_Goddess:

"I don’t understand why you guys are manifesting level 5 knowing how horrible that is or it’s because people losing jobs doesn’t affect you."

@Miss_Motshi:

"Some Government employees are not bothered because their jobs are not affected. My husband's business closed beginning of lockdown, he's still struggling to get it back on track. Now I see level 5 is trending I'm panicking."

"My cousin says we going to Level 5 tomorrow. Apparently, my aunt who works at the Department of Labor just got a call informing her of that. Abasaxoki. There's no way we going to Level 5. No ways!"

The Zimbabwean government has implemented restrictions in a bid to limit the spread of Covid-19 in the country.

This move comes shortly after South Africa reverted back to Level 3 restrictions ahead of the new year.

In other news, it has been some time since Minister of Health Dr Zweli Mkhize confirmed that South Africa was experiencing a second wave of Covid-19 infections. Before Mzansi went into the New Year, the minister reported that 18 000 new infections have been recorded.

This sent South Africans into a frenzy on social media and it was not how many had planned to enter the New Year. President Cyril Ramaphosa had to act quickly when he addressed the nation on Monday 28 December 2020 to discuss what measures would be taken to fight the pandemic.

The president was visibly emotional as he cried on national television. When Dr Mkhize shared the latest Covid-19 statistics, Mzansi social media users weighed in on the matter.
