Legendary talk show host Larry King has been hospitalised after contracting Covid-19.

The television legend was admitted to a health facility in the United States after suffering from health complications due to the virus.

According to reports by CNN, the 87-year-old is undergoing medical treatment in Cedars Sinai Medical Center.

A source revealed to the publication that the celebrity’s children have been barred from visiting him due to the country’s restrictions and risks they would potentially bring to other patients and hospital workers.

On top of his recent diagnosis, Larry also suffers from Type 2 diabetes and has undergone a number of procedures over the years to treat the condition.

It is understood the iconic media personality has been in hospital for 10 days and it is widely suspected that he got the disease from a medic. According to the 87-year-old, a healthcare worker had visited his home prior to his diagnosis and he fell ill shortly after.

The former CNN employee also had one of his sons test positive for the virus. Larry finally moved from the hospital’s ICU after his health started improving.

In previous news, the renowned TV personality finally spoke out for the first time after the sad death of two of his children.

Larry sadly lost two children, son Andy and daughter Chaia, three weeks apart, something that he says broke his heart.

In a statement on his Facebook page, the TV veteran said both were kind souls that will be missed and shared what ailments had contributed to their untimely deaths.

"It is with sadness and a father's broken heart that I confirm the recent loss of two of my children, Andy King and Chaia King. Both of them were good and kind souls and they will be greatly missed. Andy passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on July 28th, and Chaia passed on August 20th, only a short time after having been diagnosed with lung cancer," he wrote.
