South Africans are great at finding ways to make an ad situation bearable through the use of humour. A foreigner would look at us with fear and wonder as we laugh at the most mundane things.
Briefly.co.za learned about these hilarious social media posts from goodthingsguy.com.
1. Bath Tub Erotica.
A Facebook post by Wayne Gerard has gone viral as it pushes a lot of buttons for drought-stricken Capetonians. It's not the type of erotic bath that you'd expect it just so sexy seeing someone running a bath when your living on water rations.
“I know erotica probably isn’t allowed in this group, but I just had to share this steamy video clip. Does anyone in CT know what this actually is? A mate visiting Durban sent me this. Not sure what this is but its HOT!” Wayne Gerard posted.
He wasn't far off, one commentator called it 50 shades of bubbles.
2. Let's get physical
Moshe Adir was reflecting on the physical stress hauling buckets of water around and who benefits the most from it.
“Who needs Gym when you can haul buckets around all day… Forget the plastic shops making money… the chiropractors and massage professionals must be raking it in!”
3. Early April Fools
This one took a lot of criticism online. Probably because if it caught you out, you were not only angry at yourself but at the person who posted it. It pays to pay attention, its all in the details.
The post read:
"Breaking News: the City of Cape Town has issued a statement that water will be cut off in Cape Town and surrounding areas for two days on the 29th and 30th of this month. This is part of phase four water restrictions..."
