Trevor Noah’s autobiography titled ‘Born a Crime’ would be adapted in a film and star Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o.
The South African comedian and Black Panther actress both took to their social media accounts to confirm Nyong’o would be co-producing and starring in the film adaption of the book, which detailed Noah’s life growing up in Apartheid with a black mother and white Swiss father.
The ’12 Years a Slave’ actress said she could not put the book down and was excited to announce she would part of its film adaption.
Noah confirmed Nyong’o would be playing the part of his mother Patricia, who was shot in the head in 2009 by his stepfather. Fortunately, his mother survived the attack.
In an Instagram post Noah wrote his mother is a powerful “who could easily be one of the beautiful soldiers in Wakanda”.
He added therefore it would be a perfect fit if she was portrayed on the big screen by “the radiant and regal Lupita Nyong'o."
