DBN Gogo and Major League DJz have been dragged online after posting negative comments about the latest Mzansi Covid-19 statistics.

Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize took to Twitter on Wednesday, 6 January to share statistics that showed that the number of Covid-19 infections had increased drastically in the past few days. The Amapiano DJ and the Amanikiniki hitmakers took to Mkhize's comment section to share their thoughts on his post.

They slammed government for allegedly blaming the spike in the coronavirus infections on entertainment events. In a now deleted tweet, DBN Gogo wrote:

Major League DJz wrote on Mkhize's comment section:

"You still blaming events??"

Gogo went on to express that all social gatherings had to be shut down not just events and the sale of alcohol.

"It’s a simple question. If social gatherings are the issue, why have they not all been closed? When groove and alcohol were shut. Why wasn’t it all shut?"

Other tweeps took to social media to share their thoughts especially on DBN Gogo's post. Her name has been trending high on Twitter since it emerged that she is former Minister Jeff Radebe's daughter and President Cyril Ramaphosa's niece.

"Leave DBN gogo alone please, she was just expressing her feelings... Even if we go back to level 5 numbers of people getting infected will increase."

@Nonny_Mpata said:

"DBN Gogo is dragging her uncle and probably her dad too for doing a terrible job in running this country. You know how bad of a job you must do for your own niece to drag you."

In other entertainment news, Briefly.co.za reported that DJ Fresh accepted the blame after government took a decision to move the country back to Level 3 in order to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

The country had moved to Level 1 just before the festive season and eased some lockdown regulations to allow citizens to enjoy their holidays and for some businesses to open. However, the rise in the number of Covid-19 infections due to some people not adhering to the lockdown regulations has forced President Cyril Ramaphosa and his Cabinet to impose stricter rules.

The veteran radio personality took to Twitter on Monday night, 28 December after Ramaphosa's address to share his thoughts on his speech. Fresh shared that South Africans had one job to do, which was to adhere to the regulations in order to flatten the curve.

DJ Fresh asked why people were surprised when Ramaphosa announced that Mzansi was moving back to Level 3.
