Finance minister Malusi Gigaba's budget speech would be remembered by many, not in the detail he remembered it, but nonetheless.

South Africans were left amazed after Gigaba got through the entire speech without looking at his notes once.

He even quoted the "great urban poet" Kendrick Lamar's Alright lyrics without looking down for just a second.

People took to social media to debate whether Gigaba had an impeccable memory or was someone giving him his notes through an earpiece.

However, an image was posted online showing what looks like a teleprompter in front of the finance minister. The alleged screen was hidden behind a pot plant.
