Community comes together to restore museum town to its former glory

The community of Pilgrim's Rest in Mpumalanga has worked hard to return the small town to its former glory. The town is known as a museum town and was established in the late 1800s; it is truly something out of a storybook.

According to a post on the #ImStaying group by Cairan Farnholt, the local community of Pilgrim's Rest worked together to get the little town back on the map. Cairan shared a series of images of the stunning town.

The rustic aesthetic of Pilgrim's Rest should pull in a lot of tourists.

The person who found it however had luckily employed the help of social media to locate him so that she could return the belongings.

"I am grateful that we still have good people in this world. Humanity displayed. Today I lost my wallet/man-purse, I was a mess - my whole life is in there.
"After the frustration and the ordeal of blocking cards, some of which I couldn't, I got a message that the young woman by the name of Dimpho Thobejane (Mokwene) somewhere in Mphahlele had it.
"The funny thing is she doesn't know how it got into her mom’s car. They only found it when her mom arrived home from Polokwane city as they were unpacking items from the car. I also don't know how it got there."
