Since Tuesday thousands of South Africans have been queuing outside SASSA pay points as they await their grants from the SA government. In numerous clips shared online, locals can be seen standing in long lines void of any social distancing measures.

In the clips, people in wheelchairs, elderly South Africans, and even sickly people can be seen waiting to receive their payments.

South Africans have been left infuriated by the scenes at the various payout points, many of them taking to social media to express their discontent with the government. Briefly.co.za has compiled some of their statements made online.

Briefly.co.za previously reported that temporary disability grant beneficiaries have been, to put it bluntly, been left in the lurch by the government. Those set to receive the grant are now rushing to get the medical paperwork needed to reactivate their payments.
