Ami Faku is a soulful singer who brought a new meaning to Afro R&B. Now, she's getting ready to release her highly anticipated single featuring Emtee titled Lala Ngoxolo. The song's name means "Rest in Peace."

After the painful year the nation has had due to the pandemic, it will hopefully lift some people up.

The song is based on remembering the people that the nation has lost and it has touching lyrics that speak of losing a loved one.

Mzansi has been facing a lot as a country, from gender-based violence to human trafficking and Covid-19. Ami Faku's collaboration with Emtee is set to be released on 22 January 2021.

Ami said that the song is meant to help people who have been dealing with loss lately. Ami Faku rose to fame after she was on The Voice South Africa in 2017 and began receiving recognition in the music industry.

Not only is Ami a singer, but she is also studying Accounting at Nelson Mandela University. She has won a SAMA award for her album, Imali which she released in 2019.

She has also collaborated with Sun-El Musician for the iconic song, Into Ingawe.

The Jerusalema singer also revealed that she now stands a chance of being the first Mzansi woman to reach gold status via digital streaming. The songstress took to Instagram on Monday, 18 January to encourage her fans to continue streaming and sharing the album so that she can make history.

The star wrote:

"We've pushed very hard to get this far and now I stand a chance of becoming the first South African woman to reach Gold on digital streams and we can achieve that by you continuing to stream and share my album. Thank you."
