Somizi Mhlongo has refused to apologise after he blasted journalists recently. Mhlongo is a trending topic after he swore at two journalists from separate publications for trying to get his comment on stories they were writing.

Since then, the Idols SA judge has come under scrutiny from the SA National Editors Forum (SANEF) and the court of public opinion. Many have felt that he overreacted and that he should apologise.

Somizi has stood firm and refused to apologise for his comments. Taking to Instagram, the media personality release a lengthy video detailing why he felt he had the right to be angry.

The choreographer admitted that he was wrong to post her number in public and also said that he did it on purpose.

Somizi went on to say that friends asked him to apologise.

“Some of my close friends were saying I must apologise and people even went to a point where they tagged companies I work with.”

He reiterated :

“I am not apologising for what I did. I would never sell my soul to put bread on the table, I would rather die standing than live longer on my knees.”

His response had mixed reactions from social media users. Insta user luqat534 said:

"Tell journalists to come write stories about schools in the villages where kids have no access of internet and wifi and stories based on how those kids will be able to study at home in case schools are being delayed due to Covid-19...
"Who exactly take them into consideration because kids in the city could manage with the access of everything provided by the government."

"You are correct: it should NOT work that way. But it does, unfortunately. You refer to it as invading your personal space. But truth is, when you choose to align yourself as a public figure on social media, you have relinquished your privacy.
"I’m not saying it is right. I’m not saying it is fair. But it’s the trade-off. These last few generations are not understanding the perils of using social media the way they do. You cannot control it the way it controls you."

Meanwhile, Briefly.co.za reported that Somizi and and Mohale's relationship has faced a lot of scrutiny lately and there have even been rumours of divorce flying around.

Mohale recently took to social media to answer some fan questions and one of the responses seemed to be a subtle clapback at all those who had been questioning his marriage. The star was asked about how he makes a living and what he does day-to-day to make ends meet.

Mohale responded to the question by posting an internet video of a woman who, when asked how she affords the luxurious car she drives and what she does for a living, responds that she is simply married.

Mohale's reply was clearly conveying the message that his marriage was what he did for a living but also served as a more subtle clapback at those who have been wondering about whether or not a divorce was imminent.

Fans loved the response and many were happy to hear that all seemed well between Somgaga and Mohale.
