Donald Trump Looking for Defence Lawyers Ahead of Impeachment Trial

Former United States President Donald Trump has started looking for defence lawyers ahead of his impeachment trial in the Senate.
According to The Telegraph, the 74-year-old Republican is trying to gather a team after he was found guilty of incitement of insurrection following the US Capitol chaos.

Trump's impeachment
Trump, who made history by being the first president to be impeached twice, would still enjoy protection by US secret service but would be banned from office if indicted.
“He’s trying to put together a team," South Carolina Senator Lindsay Graham, a staunch supporter of Trump said.
The 45th US president who served a single four-year term from 2016 to 2021, reportedly made a call to Graham after settling into his Mar-a-Lago mansion in Florida.
"He says this (Trump's new residence) is probably the second nicest place other than the White House,” Graham disclosed.
Trump was impeached for the second time by the House of Representatives on January 13, after he allegedly incited his followers to attack the Capitol in an effort to stop the certification of Joe Biden's presidential election win.
Ten members of his Republican Party voted to kick him out of office.

Briefly.co.za had reported Trump left White House for the last time as president on Wednesday, January 20, and flew to Maryland where he addressed his supporters.
He in the process became the first US president to snub inauguration of a successor since 1869.
The controversial businessman turned politician was received by his supporters who waved “Trump 2020” flags as he assured them "he would be back in some form".
On the same day, his rival Joe Biden who floored him the highly contested election was inaugurated as the 46th US president alongside Vice President Kamala Harris.
