- Billionaire Bushari is a pastor and prophet, but also a businessman, who knows how to profit from his position in society
- One of the many proponents of a branch of theological teachings which place an emphasis on wealth creation, he is a well known business leader in Africa
- Prosperity religion, which preaches that God blesses by giving prosperity on the most holy, has helped him build an empire which has won him accolades in the business world
If material wealth is any indication of a person’s holiness, then Prophet Shepherd Bushiri is well and truly blessed.
Briefly.co.za has learned that the Malawian-born pastor cum prophet was given an award for his success in business on Saturday evening at this year’s Africa’s CEO Hall of Fame event at the Sandton Convention Centre.
The gathering, hosted by African Leadership magazine, aims to recognise what it describes as individuals who are “game-changers” in the world of business on the African continent.
The magazine’s aware website explains that it seeks to award business leaders “who are doing things differently towards re-positioning the African continent.” Nominees are both selected by and judged by public votes.
Bushari, who is also known as “the Major One”, established a business called Shepherd Bushiri Investments (SBI) in 2015. The business has entities such as SB Hotels, SB Mining, SB Telecommunications, SB Beverages and SB Airways, ans according to its website has investments around the world including in Britain, America and Dubai.
The prophet’s investment company reportedly has a net worth of over $1Billion which translates to just under R14 Billion.
Of course, not everyone is a fan of Bushiri. He has as many detractors on social media as anyone else with a larger than life public persona.
However, he is also celebrated for the good works that he does to help those less fortunate than himself.
