A kind young South African man, Devon Cale Garvie, recently headed to Facebook's ImStaying to share a very heartfelt post about the bit of good he did for his community - and more specifically for police officers - over the festive period.

In the post, he explains that he was given money by his parents to do a bit of good. After some consideration, he decided that the police officers in his community deserved a reward - this is when he bought them some soft drinks to quench their thirst on a hot day.

"To those who are asking me why I did it, my parents gave me R500 for Christmas with the exact instructions to spend it on helping other people. That's why I did it. We don't need Christmas presents but we do need to be a gift to others," he wrote.
