Sho Madjozi Recreates 'Bridgerton' Series, Gives Show a Village Twist

It seems that not even South African celebs are immune to the charms of Netflix's hit show, Bridgerton.

Sho Madjozi recently showed her appreciation for the series by filming a brand new trailer, frame-by-frame, but with an African twist.

The star is currently in Tanzania, in a Maasai village called Lerai, which she used as the setting for her 'village spin' on the British period romance.

Madjozi went all out for her skit and enlisted the help of a whole lot of people to body-double as the characters from the now-iconic show.

The hitmaker also said in her caption that the video doubled as a bit of publicity for the Ngorongoro conservation area where Lerai is situated. She wrote:

"Life in the Ngorongoro conservation area where there’s room for both wildlife and people. Like this Maasai village called Lerai which makes a living from welcoming tourists. They asked me to tell my friends about them so they can get more visitors. So, my friends... WELCOME TO #BRIDGERTON #tanzaniaunforgettable"

Bridgerton has been renewed for a second season following a record-breaking debut on the streaming giant Netflix.

The series, a period romance based on a collection of eight books by writer Julia Quinn, has managed to become the most-watched episodic television release in the streamer's history.

Netflix reported that the show had been watched by 82 million households in its first month of being on the service.

The show was produced by Shondaland, an American television production company that was founded by writer-producer Shonda Rhimes. Rhimes was the creative force behind hits like Grey's Anatomy and How To Get Away With Murder and her production company can add Bridgerton to their list of hits.
