A Nigerian lady, Enobong Ebitu, recently took to LinkedIn to share how she lost her job. She said that it just happened without any crime.

Enobong said the company laid her off because the workload at its warehouse had reduced. She added that she wants her experience to teach people how everything can work well when one plans ahead.

The lady said prior to the employment termination, she had saved as much money as possible, preparing for the inevitable end as she was a contract worker with no job security.

Enobong noted that before she lost her job, she made sure to pay her rent, school, and visa fees. According to the lady, the day she planned she was going to leave was her exact last day.

Enobong said that planning saved her from the consequences she may have faced from losing a job she always relied on.

Her post partly read:

“With the space of few months, I got my admission, half scholarship, secured a room in a new city from this job. I knew it wasn’t forever so I started planning my exit. The day I decided would be my last day was my LAST DAY.”

"Another lesson you should learn, don't disclose your plan to exit a job IF you are still contemplating on the move. But if you have decided and get ready to leave, you may then share with a colleague."
