According to reports, Mzansi actor Vuyo Dabula is set to leave the SABC soapie Generations: The Legacy in March 2021. Vuyo plays Kumkani "Gadaffi" Phakade on the popular show and fans have come to love him.

The Daily Sun reported that Vuyo is leaving the show after he was given an ultimatum from producers.

Vuyo had to choose whether he would carry on with Generations or move on and shoot the now-cancelled Netflix show, Queen Sono.

Vuyo chose to move on with Queen Sono and was then axed from Generations. He has played Gadaffi for more than five years and he is now shooting his exit scenes from the soapie.

According to an insider, the producers of Generations are hoping that Vuyo's exit will not affect their ratings. Vuyo has a very huge female fan base.

"Some people watched the show because of him. So his departure might turn some off. Only time will tell. His last scene is scheduled to air on 17 March," they said.

Another insider added that the character will not be killed off, this might leave some fans hopeful that Gadaffi might make his return to the show someday.

In other Mzansi television news, Briefly.co.za reported that Cindy Mahlangu talked about leaving Scandal with a bang. Mzansi actress Cindy Mahlangu has closed off her final performance in the soapie Scandal and she has spoken about leaving the show on a good note.

According to a report by The Sowetan, Violetta's exit from the show will be by the death of her character.

Briefly.co.za previously reported that Skeem Saam is being put on halt due to declining viewership. SABC soapie Skeem Saam is to go on a production break. The show has lost a million viewers and there are rumours in the entertainment industry that it might be axed soon.
