A video has surfaced online showing one of the leaders of the Seven Angels Ministry church saying he's an angel.
Former Police Minister, Fikile Mbalula, shared the video on his Twitter page on Wednesday, 28 February, Briefly.co.za learned. Mbalula captioned it:
So called Seven Angels some time ago giving their reply to the CRL. Watch and judge for yourself.
It's unclear which of the brothers appears in the video. The church made headlines after five police officers and a retired soldier were shot dead recently in Ngcobo, Eastern cape.
The unnamed church leader spoke to the CRL Rights Commission through a translator. He said:
Firstly, I'm not a pastor. I am an angel from heaven.
He went on to explain that as an angel, he sat on the right side of God. He and his brothers were sent to Earth to hunt down Lucifer, he added.
The leader further said that Lucifer has misled South Africa through its education system and Constitution.
The leader's claims shocked many South Africans on Twitter. Some likened his beliefs to those of Boko Haram. See some reactions below.
