A young lady has recounted how she discovered she had contracted the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and her experience living with the disease.
Named Adwoa for an interview she granted, the young lady narrates that in December 2020, she fell seriously sick and had to run series of tests at a hospital to ascertain the cause of her failing health.
Before then, she was compelled to put her life on hold due to a similar life-threatening health condition in 2018 and 2019.
But the following year was the striking moment she became convinced something was wrong.

In December 2020, Adwoa became severely sick and visited a health facility to determine the cause of her failing health.
After running series of tests, it emerged that she has HIV, crushing her instantly upon hearing the news.
''It was devastating. I couldn't show the results to the doctor after the laboratory technician handed it to me,'' Adwoa revealed.
The major hurdle for Adwoa was breaking the news to her family as she feared rejection and discrimination from people in society.
She also discovered she was pregnant when she visited the hospital, but lost the baby after a miscarriage.
Adwoa is appealing for financial support to fund her medical expenses as she tells her heart-wrenching story.

In her ImStaying post, Mancobeni shared how she has been living healthily despite being HIV positive for 22 years. In her touching post, she also shared that she is a single mother of three healthy beautiful boys.
She also shares that she is a rape survivor, sharing that she believes that God has played a big part in her life.
"I've seen the hand of God in my life. Rape survivor. Been HIV positive for the past 22 years. On medication for 5 years. Single mother of 3 handsome boys. Nam #Imstaying," she wrote in the touching Facebook post.
