Ringo Madlingozi recounts what it was like being homeless

Afro-pop singer, Ringo Madlingozi, didn't always have an easy life. At one point he was homeless when he was still trying to break into the music industry.

He said that this carried on for some time until he met a woman who allowed him to move in with her. Madlingozi faced many challenges on his road to success.

Briefly.co.za learned that the legendary singer once called Johannesburg Park Station his home according to channel24.co.za.

"I didn’t have a place to stay so I slept at Park Station for about five days without anybody knowing. I never told anyone at home that I actually didn’t have a place to stay,” says Ringo

He would amble around Park Station during the day and at night he would dance until 3 am. He would sometimes crash at his cousin's house.

His cousin didn't know that he was homeless until he grew suspicious and asked him where he was staying. He replied.

‘Uh somewhere, you know’.
