Zuma's Refusal to Testify Could Have Serious Repercussions for SA

Earlier, Briefly.co.za reported that former public protector Thuli Madonsela has slammed former president Jacob Zuma for defying a Constitutional Court order compelling him to appear at the State Capture Inquiry.

Zuma issued a statement recently where he openly expressed that he would not appear before the commission as long as Deputy Chief Justice is still its chair. The troubled politician wants Zondo to recuse himself because he believes Zondo is conflicted.

Madonsela told Newzroom Afrika on Sunday, 7 February that Zuma is not above the law. She said Zuma's stance was a first of its kind from any South African president under a new constitution.

In other news, the Julius Malema and Jacob Zuma tea party seemed to be the talk of the town this past week - and Rasta the controversial South African artist naturally did not let the whole thing pass without him dedicating a special painting in honour of the occasion.
