A new hashtag, #LovesYouButWon'tMarryYou, is being used on Twitter to discuss a big relationship factor and that is making the decision to have a life partner as opposed to choosing to wed and have a husband or a wife the way it's been done for many years.

Many people quite prefer to have a life partner because it's simply what works for them. Others however just do not understand why people would choose to be with a partner forever who they never want to marry.

"#LovesYouButWontMarryYou. This is a strategy set by black people to avoid having families because families require obedient people. It's a standard set for people who don't want a designed principled relationship because they still want to be little boys and girls at age 35 - 65."

"I’ll speak for myself, I ended my relationship with a lady I wanted to marry because we both realised that we simply won’t afford marriage, especially because we’re black. I have a struggling business and have debt, I can’t dream of affording lobola and everything else."

In other Briefly.co.za news, there's a lot of hype around Valentine's Day and what comes with the hype is many expectations. A woman called Maphindy fell far short of these expectations after she forwarded a message to her bae on the special day as opposed to writing something sweet and original.

In a screenshot of the convo shared by @uKhayegema, Maphindy forwards her bae a Valentine's Day text which she received from someone else, but he obviously would have appreciated something original, judging by his response:

"Really Maphindy? A fowarded text?" he wrote.
