Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma's court ruling is set to take place on Friday, according to the North Gauteng High Court.

The ruling is going to decide whether the Covid-19 lockdown regulations were irrational and if Dlamini-Zuma should be jailed.

The Tshwane-based Liberty Fighters Network (LFN) is fighting for Dlamini-Zuma to be held accountable for not following Judge Norman Davis' ruling in June, saying that some of the lockdown regulations are unconstitutional.

A number of South Africans, including the LFN, was outraged with the banning of alcohol and tobacco products during the different levels of the national lockdown. The organisation is calling for Dlamini-Zuma to be punished for her regulations.

On Monday, Judge Davis ruled that he would be delivering his judgment on Friday.

Dlamini-Zuma is engaging Judge Davis' June 2020 decision at the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) yet has been rejected leave to challenge the statement of deficiency of six of the guidelines.

The six guidelines incorporate the time limitation somewhere in the range of 6am and 6pm, limitations on the development of youngsters and restricted participation of burial services.

Including the shutting of beaches and recreational areas, for example, cafés and on-location utilisation of alcohol, among others.
