Nhlanhla Nene was appointed as the new Finance Minister, forcing Gigaba back to his former position in Home Affairs.
Malusi Gigaba, Minister of Home Affairs, after returning to the portfolio, has stressed that front office improvements are on top of the list of priorities.
Gigaba, at the department’s office in Pretoria, addressed top management on the issue, on Friday.
Gigaba emphasizes the importance on improving customer experience.
“One of the things we need to do as a matter of urgency is attended to front office improvements and the modernization program so that we have adequate resources.”
Briefly.co.za learnt that Gigaba stated that Home Affairs must play a role in the economic development of the country.
“That means supporting our ports of entry and tourism, to ensure we play a role in empowering citizens with documents which will enable them to play an economic role.”
