Locals React as Everyone Involved in Ace Magashule Case Gets Bail

- Recent South African reports have revealed that Ace Magashuel and 15 other suspects involved in an ongoing corruption case have been granted bail

- The case against them has also been postponed to August this year and has been moved to the Free State High Court

- Meanwhile, South Africans have reacted to the news angrily as many of them find the constant postponement of cases frustrating

Recent reports reveal that ANC Secretary-General Ace Magashule and 15 of his co-accused were granted bail on Friday morning this week. Their case has also been postponed to 11 August this year in the Free State High Court.

Magashule and 15 co-accused have been accused of 21 cases of fraud, corruption and money laundering which all stem from an R255 million housing project in the Free State during which he had allegedly built using harmful asbestos in the roofing.

Despite Magashule having a large number of followers, many South Africans are not happy that he and his accused received bail or that the case was postponed for such a long period. Read what they had to say about it below:

Nkanyiso Skhonza Mbaligontsi said:

"This is one of the reasons that make people attack and criticise the justice system of this country, it's postponements after postponements for some high profile individuals (ANC)... but if these guys were poor they would be forced to wait for their next court appearance behind bars."

Mthandeni Adil said:

"I am expecting more postponement, after that it will be struck from the roll, that's how corrupt Hawks lets looters get away with corruption."

"Same as Zuma's case, shame to South Africa this country is going down to the drain, Thousands of people were there outside the court supporting corruption some of them are jobless as we speak, they support Magashule who got millions but they do not even get a cent from those millions."

Briefly.co.za earlier reported that Ace Magashule the ANC Secretary-General and seven others are expected to appear before the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court on Friday, 19 February. Magashule's supporters are expected to come out in their numbers to support the politician.

Magashule, the seven others, as well as five companies, are facing various charges. Some of which include fraud and corruption relating to an alleged awarding of an irregular audit contract of more than R250 million.

Magashule's followers have been drumming up support ahead of his court appearance as they plan to make themselves known outside the venue.
