It has been said that women are at their most gorgeous when they are pregnant. Stories of women having a certain glow about them have passed down through time.

In the modern world women no-longer go into hiding when it becomes obvious that they are expecting and many modern women actually carry on working until very late into their pregnancy.

Pregnant South African celebrities have embraced not only becoming mothers but have shown how stylish and jaw-droppingly beautiful they can be while showing off their baby bumps.

Briefly.co.za looks at five stunning local celebrities who have brought some fashion sense and more than a little glamour to being pregnant.

1. Minki van der Westhuizen

Minki became famous as a model and Graeme Smith’s girlfriend. Since then she has blossomed into one of the most glamorous South African celebrities. Minki currently works as an Afrikaans TV host, she is expecting baby number three in the next couple of weeks.

2. Jo-Ann Strauss

The former Miss South Africa has become synonymous with glamour and style. She is expected her third child.

3. Aisha Baker

Aisha gained fame as a beauty blogger, she will appear on the March cover of Cosmopolitan magazine. Aisha is super proud of her baby bump and can be seen with Jo-Anne Straus on regular occasions.

4. Tansey Coetzee

Tansey held her pink-themed baby shower last week. The festivities were attended by a who’s who of celebsville. Bonang shared pictures of Tansey showing off her bump. Other famous attendees were Shashi Naidoo, Candice Abrahams and Lorna Maseko.

5. Monique Muller

Monique’s famous man is none other than TV personality Katlego Maboe, the couple is expecting their first baby in June.
