e.tv has confirmed that it has cancelled its long-running music show Club 808. The broadcaster confirmed the last episode of the show will air on 30 March at 16:25
Club 808 has been on South African TV screens for seven years, according to e.tv the final episode will be a spectacular featuring past talent and hosts.
Current host Bontle Modiselle tweeted her thanks to the fans of the show for the support they had given to the show and to her since she started hosting.
Briefly.co.za gathered that Bontle took over hosting duties from Boity Thulo in June last year. She said: "It’s been an absolute pleasure entertaining those who watched, and I’ll do so for the remainder of the season, and hereafter. Thank you for your support!"
Executives changed the show’s timeslot last year to make way for Days of Our Lives, producers and executives rubbished claims that the show was being cancelled because of a drop in viewership.
e.tv publicist Michael Pocock said: "We would like to thank the presenters of Club 808, all the talent that has featured on the show and Red Pepper Pictures for an entertaining seven years on e.tv."
