A young Gambian woman on Twitter, Awa Gai, has headed to her handle to celebrate graduating from law school at 21.
The founder of She Awards Gambia, an organisation that recognises and celebrates the achievements of outstanding Gambian women, announced her academic achievement in a post.
"A Law graduate! At 21, I have become the first woman in my family to earn a degree. Grateful to everyone who has supported me on this journey. All praises go to the Most High," she said on Twitter.

Gai's organisation, She Awards Gambia, recognises the remarkable feats of Gambian women from different sectors through initiatives such as International Women’s Day.
Briefly.co.za gathers that she is also a writer and contributor at The Law Hub Gambia and a full-time programme associate for the women and girls’ rights activist group Safe Hands For Girls.
Gai bagged her law degree from the University of The Gambia. She plans to further her education in the future and continue advocating for the right of women and girls across the Gambia.

Serwaah Mankosa has been providing her pupils with hot meals every day from her meager resources and through the benevolence of her friends on social media.
In other news, Ghanaian female entrepreneur, Iddrisu Kande, has carved a niche in the male-dominated building and supplies industry.
Kande runs her own business called Marouf Aluminium Fabrications (MAF), a venture that deals in sliding doors and windows, louvre windows, balustrades, projected windows, partitioning, swing doors, etc.
The businesswoman has young people, including men who are understudying her to become expert framers of aluminum frames.
