Two charges made against Isibaya actress Zinhle Mabena by her ex-husband Robert Ngwenya have been dropped. The charges include malicious damage to property, assault and theft.

Zinhle appeared in court on Tuesday, 16 March where the theft and damage to property charges were subsequently dropped as Robert was recorded on video slashing the tyres on his own car, thus the state refused to prosecute her.

Zinhle's lawyer stated that the assault charges, however, have been postponed for the state to provide proof the incident had in fact taken place.

According to City Press, Zinhle's case has been postponed to sort the evidence out. Last year, Robert laid charges of physical abuse after Zinhle allegedly pushed him down a flight of stairs at their home.

ZAlebs reported that Robert had visible scars from the alleged assault. Zinhle also obtained a protection order against Robert around the same time and laid counter-charges of physical abuse against him.

Previously, Briefly.co.za reported that a warrant of arrest was out for Robert. The warrant of arrest has been sent out because Robert has allegedly violated the protection order against him by Zinhle. The warrant was issued by the Pretoria Magistrate's Court according to a report by The Sowetan.

Zinhle was accused of conspiring to murder her husband Robert but the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) found that more investigations needed to be done on the case.

Sihle Ndaba sent her support to Zinhle Mabena during her court case. A Twitter user was talking about the case and shared that a person is innocent until proven guilty.
