The gap between the poor and rich is well-known, less well known is the growing gap between the super-rich and the just-rich.

There is a record number of 2 208 billionaires on the planet in 2018. Together these billionaires are worth a mind-boggling $9.1 trillion, up 18% from a year ago.

The 20 richest people in this group are worth a combined $1.2 trillion, which means that although they represent less than 1% of the total billionaires their wealth represents 13% of total wealth from billionaires.
