Jacob Zuma, the former president, broke out in his trademark song uMshini Wam at a gala dinner. The event was organised by the National Funeral Practitioners Association of SA (Nafupa-SA) in Durban on Thursday night.
Two awards were given to Zuma by Nafupa-SA and Delangokubona Business Forum. One award was for to show their appreciation for the work his had done to advance radical economic transformation and the second was for bravery in his unwavering support of land expropriation without compensation.
Briefly.co.za learned that Nafupa-SA has come under fire for banning white and Indian businessowners from operating in townships. Accusations have been leveled against the business forum that they have been operating a mafia-style campaign to secure work from construction firms according to timeslive.co.za.
500 people attended the dinner including members of Black First Land First (BLF). The BLF members started singing when Zuma walked into the auditorium.
Just before he received his award, Zuma began to sing his trademark song to the delight of his hosts and their guests.
