There seems to be a silent revolution and inclination towards farming as an occupation.

Suddenly, Nigerian youths, graduates especially are venturing into it and making it a full time occupation, Chiemezie Ezeani is one of those who have decided to tow that path.

The 32-year-old who graduated from Imo State University where he read philosophy told Briefly.co.za in an exclusive interview that he fell in love with farming thanks to his grandmother.

According to him, he accompanied his grandma to the family's farm where they cultivated cassava, tomatoes, cocoyam as well as rear goats. They would then put up for sale the numerous food products from the farm.

Chiemezie, who hails from Umuezeonyima Umuago-Urualla, Ideato-North in Imo, said he started cultivating again during his service year.

In Bauchi where he served in 2018, he grew beans and corns which he brought back to the east for sale upon completion of his NYSC.

In 2020, he said he experimented farming in his hometown with 50 tubers and though the result wasn't so nice it raised his hopes and encouraged him.

At the moment, his target is to plant 200 tubers and take it up from there.

He stated that with an enabling environment and necessary support, farming and support will become the new oil well.

Meanwhile, Briefly.co.za earlier reported that another South African has shared her amazing journey in medicine towards becoming a doctor and that is Dr Caroline Pule, so social media users have congratulated her.

The new doctor’s story has been documented by Varsity World, a forum that is focusing on sharing stories of those that have accumulated success in education.

According to Pule, she subscribes to the notion that to live for others is fulfilling and that it’s worth a while. She posted on Facebook:
