A man, David Opar, has celebrated bagging his PhD from the Dongguk University, Seoul in South Korea on Friday, February 26.

In a LinkedIn post, the man said that looking at how rough his background was, he never thought that he would one day become so academically great. David added that everything still seems new to him.

The PhD holder who is an orphan revealed that his elder brother stopped pursuing his dreams so that they can have shelter and food.

He added that despite how challenging growing up was, he graduated as the best student from Kenyatta University and Newcastle University at both undergraduate and master's degree levels.

David disclosed that before he got a scholarship for his doctorate degree, he had made several attempts.

In a final note, the man said:

“Today, a simple boy from Kendu Bay, who grew up in a slum, orphaned and was told by some I won’t amount to anything has only gone and bagged himself a PhD from a top global university.”
