Tendai 'Beast' Mtawarira has joined US hip-hop mogul Jay-Z's Roc Nation Sports. Roc Nation Sports also announced the signing of Beast via a statement they released on Thursday, 8 April.

The World Cup-winning Springbok prop took to Instagram on Thursday, 8 April to share that he can't wait to do "big things" with the Roc family. The star wrote:

"Wow, super excited to be a part of @RocNationSports. Can’t wait to do big things with the Roc family."

Beast holds the South African record for the most Super Rugby caps (159) for the Durban-based franchise, The Sharks. The Sharks announced a strategic partnership with Roc Nation Sports in January this year.

In the statement, Mtawarira said he was thrilled and truly honoured to be involved with Roc Nation Sports.

"The brand is dynamic and forward thinking and that’s exactly what I need in this next chapter of my life."

Beast joins a growing list of exciting Roc Nation Sports talent in Mzansi, which includes the Springbok duo of Siya Kolisi and Cheslin Kolbe and Proteas fast bowler, Lungi Ngidi.

Roc Nation Sports will manage Beast’s brand, commercial entities and philanthropic ventures.

Instagram users, including other rugby players, took to Beast's comment section to congratulate him.

In other news, Briefly.co.za reported that South African rugby captain and champ Siya Kolisi, aka Siya the Bear, has just had a major shift in his career. In a post made by the official rugby team, The Sharks Facebook page, they announced that the star rugby player had joined them.

The heartwarming and exciting post includes two pictures of Siya signing his contract with the team and also smiling proudly and obviously very happy with his decision to join one of the best rugby teams in the country.

"IT’S OFFICIAL! Siyamthanda Kolisi joins The Cell C Sharks family. #OurSharksForever," they captioned the Facebook post.
