ANC veterans speak up about Zuma’s participation in the voter registration campaign

There has been question around why Zuma was allowed to campaign for the ANC during the voter registration rally this weekend. The ANC veterans are raising question and expect answers.

In a report by SowetanLIVE, it was stated that the ANC Veterans League president, Snuki Zikalala, gave comment that their reason to call for Zuma to step down was based on the fact that he had brought the ANC into disrepute.

"The ANC said that they will use every individual and every member of the ANC to campaign. Comrade Zuma has gone out to campaign [and] that is fine but, at the same time, I think that we should look at that issue very seriously because the ANC has lost three metros and ANC integrity is non-existent currently [because of him]"

The ANC veterans reminded ur new president of their influence and the moral of the ANC.

"We had a very fruitful and constructive discussion (with) the president and the deputy president of the country as to what role stalwarts should play, especially when it comes to elections,"
"The veterans and the stalwarts have agreed that we will ensure that we build the ANC that we had before."
"We also agreed that stalwarts belong to the ANC and these are people who live the ANC and so as we stand here we are all ANC people."
