Pemmy Majodian Wants to Explain Son's Involvement in PPE Caucus Deal

Pemmy Majodina, ANC's Chief Whip in Parliament, wishes to appear before the party's integrity commission to shed light on her son's involvement in an ANC personal protective equipment caucus deal.

Nomfanelo Kota, ANC Parliamentary caucus' acting spokesperson, issued a statement saying Majodina regretted the association of her son, Mkhonto weSizwe, in an agreement that supplied thermometers worth R52 500 to ANC constituency offices.

According to a report, Majodina found herself tangled in a negative situation related to an alleged conflict of financial interest over a tender that went to her son.

Kota stated that Majodina is 'aware' that the situation may be perceived as nepotism due to the closeness of her son. The Citizen revealed that Mkhonto is the sole director of King Mzimshe Trading based in Bhisho, Eastern Cape. Majodina reiterated her stance on 'upholding the law'.

According to News24, Mkhonto allegedly supplied 150 thermometers to be used at the party's constituency offices across the country through his company

In similar news, Briefly News reported on Gwede Mantashe who was accused of nepotism last year. This follows an image of a form dated 3 December stating that Mantashe's son Buyambo was appointed as an Advisory Council member of the Tsolo Agriculture and Rural Institute has surfaced online.
