A video has surfaced on social media showing a Home Affairs official seemingly distracted by her phone while working.

Radio and TV presenter Bongani Bingwa shared the footage on Twitter this morning, Briefly.co.za learned. He accompanied it with the caption:

This official has a certain level of liver! Completely distracted from doing their job because of a phone and social media. Have you had a similar experience?

In the video, the unnamed official is seen checking her social media and WhatsApp as members of the public waited for service. It's unclear when and where the video was taken.

Mzansi netizens reacted with criticism of the official's apparent unprofessional behaviour. See some of their reactions below.
