Working in the mines away from sunlight and the rest of humankind is a terribly difficult job. A young woman recently headed online to share with the world just how difficult it is for her, especially as a woman in a male-dominated field.

In her inspirational and eye-opening post, the young lady with the Twitter handle @KaraboNkoana_za shared that on the first day working as a miner, she cried because of how hard it was.

"I was only 23 when I started working underground, I remember I cried the first day I had to walk 10km to site. I told myself, why should I suffer like this ke tsene skolo? Tjo, but I’m starting to realise that the world meets nobody halfway," she wrote in the post.
